Afternoon Reading and Signing with Adair Sanders

April 13 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Star Line Books is please to host Chattanooga native Adair Sanders for an afternoon event on Saturday, April 13th. Adair will be reading and signing beginning at 2 p.m.

Adair Sanders was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee in an era when girls of a certain social class were expected to marry well and never work. Exhibiting her penchant for being contrary, Adair left the confines of an all-girl education to pursue a psychology degree and a law degree from the University of Tennessee. For the next thirty years – give or take a few – Adair enjoyed disproving the agenda her parents had designed for her, becoming the first female member of a men’s dining club in Knoxville, Tennessee and then the first female partner in an old-line law firm in Jackson, Mississippi all the while, more or less, balancing a home life of husband and children.

Sanders’ first book, Biologically Bankrupt, is a memoir which shares with the reader an honest and insightful examination of generational dysfunction, abuse, and addiction in her family of origin. Written in response to what Sanders terms a “spiritual call”, Biologically Bankrupt contains a message of healing and reconciliation that has resounded with readers. In August 2018 Sanders published her second non-fiction book, Out of the Ashes, A Collection of Essays. Funny, sad, irreverent and thought provoking, Out of the Ashes is one of the most honest, heartfelt and compelling compilations of personal experiences in publication today.

In 2014, between the publication of her two non-fiction works, Sanders turned her hand to writing a fiction mystery series. As Sick As Our Secrets, Sanders’ first novel in the series, is a deliciously enticing legal thriller replete with sex, blackmail and murder. What Comes Around, book 2 in the series follows protagonist Allison Parker as she tracks down a serial killer who is murdering women across the south. Ashes to Ashes, book 3 in the series, explores the question of who tried to kill P.I. Frank Martin, and why. Suffer the Children, book 4 in the series, brings terror to the heartland. Wolf, book 5 in the series, is expected in publication by the end of 2018. The Allison Parker Mysteries are available on Amazon in multiple formats and at select, independent bookstores.

Adair Sanders lives in Brevard, North Carolina where she was a founding member of the Brevard Authors’ Guild. She is also a member of the North Carolina Writers Network and the Chattanooga Writers Guild.
